Families which inspires.
After that visit, Virginie knew that she wants to give more than just money. She decided to adopt one of the orphans. She knew that it could not help everyone but she believed and still believes that her story will inspire others and they will share their love with other children which deserve it. The whole adoption procedure least two years. It was a difficult and very stressful time for her and her husband. In 2012, she got the call that she can come to Ethiopia to see her daughter – Genat – for the first time. Her biological mother left her on the doorstep of the church when she was just a few days old. It is extremely sad in what condition must have been a mother to do such a thing like this.
We do not know exactly when Genat was born but the medical check ups, doctor was able to determine more or less up to 3 months of her age. When Virginie saw her for the first time she fell in love with her immediately. Genat during this period had a typical disease for orphans which is running away with her sight from the person who looks at her. Her undernourishment and vitamins deficiency make her looks younger than she really was. Virginie had to spend month in Ethiopia before she would take her back to Scotland. During this time, she made sure Genat did not run out of food and vitamins, and she spent with her every second. That day-to-day care resulted that Genat would begin to look at her, not only as a babysitter but someone more … Mum.
In July 2012 Genat came to Scotland. The whole family was extremely happy about the new family member. Today Genat is 19 months and a beautiful healthy, and happy little girl that has a love of loving family. Virginie every day reads her a bedtime stories and always reminds her where she came from and that certainly they will go to visit her home country again. Genat always wears her pendants, which she got from sisters which take care of her when she was abandoned. It is a reminder that because of them, she has been saved and now she can have a lovely family. God was watching over her…….
There are many such children who need our help, I know that not everyone can afford to adopt but do not be neutral to the needs of the others, wherever we are and whatever we do. Everyone needs love. Love improves the world. Let us believe in a better tomorrow….
With love,
KK
